Managing Director
Born in 1949 I was educated in Hull at Kingston High School. I left school to take up Articles with a small local firm of Chartered Accountants. I completed my Articles and qualified in 1971 and left the practice in April 1972 to set up my own business.
The practice which I established was built up over a number of years to become one of the largest local independent firms eventually with four Partners and over forty employees.
In 2001 I sold my share in the practice to my partners and left to set up MWS Business Management Ltd, a Corporate Finance Practice aimed at Small to Medium sized Enterprises with commitment to support them with provision of
regular Management information and commercial expertise.
Since 2001 MWS has grown dramatically and has raised over £50m for various local and national businesses. Through team work the company has delivered strong support to clients with turnovers as low as £100,000 p.a. but up to £90m p.a.
It is my hope that I can lead the experienced team at MWS to further success and expansion over the next 5/10 years.
In my spare time I follow all sports, with particular interest in cricket at all levels.

Having been in the profession since and qualifying in 2001, I have gained a great deal of knowledge in all aspects of business. When the opportunity arose of moving with Melvyn in 2001 to assist in setting up the new practice, the temptation of leaving behind the mundane audit regulations and form filling was too great.
The experience gained in my previous role and since 2001 being involved in the running of a number of businesses and assisting with key decision making and strategy is something
which I can now pass on to new and existing clients.
I am a keen follower of sport and when time allows I travel to Anfield to hopefully watch some quality football. All other sport is watched in front of the “big screen” with friends and a few beers.

Sean Maloney

With over 20 years of experience, I have occupied almost every position within the Accountancy industry. After working in practice producing information for the first 13 years an opportunity arose to not just perform statutory duties for clients, but to actually assist them in understanding and improving their business.
My role therefore is not only to review and produce information for clients but is to help assist these clients in making key business decisions, whether it is through the production of business plans, cash flows, Key Performance Indicator Analysis, staff recruitment etc.
I believe the key element of the role is the close contact that is maintained with clients which often helps in identifying and implementing financial strategies on a proactive not reactive basis.
I live with my partner, Julie, and have two daughters, Cameron and Erin. I enjoy the odd game of golf and snooker and am a keen follower of all local sport.

Neil Robinson A.C.I.B
Business Development Consultant
Born and educated in Hull, I have enjoyed a 30 year career in banking which started in 1976 with the old Midland Bank in Hull and then Leeds. This period was followed by a career change and the exciting opening of a new Bank of Scotland office in Hull in 1990 when Melvyn and I first worked closely together, sharing several mutual clients. And finally, the last 10 years up to 2008 were spent in London in a variety of senior roles with HBOS. This included Head of Corporate and Commercial Banking with responsibility for relationships with SME and Corporate clients having turnover from £1m to £100m.
In addition to working closely with both local and national companies in terms of growth plans and fundraising, I am also a member of The
International Coaches Federation and a professionally trained Coach who enjoys successfully working with business leaders and management teams on organisational structure and change, building capability and performance improvement.
Married to Maggie, and with 3 grown up children, we now live in Hessle. In my spare time, I am a Governor of Hymers College, a member of Hull Golf Club and an avid supporter of Hull City.
